Industry / Manufacturing
Knowing what your production really costs.
Most manufacturers we meet know their revenue to the day and their true cost of goods approximately. That is usually where the project starts.
An industrial information system is judged on its ability to connect three worlds that communicate poorly: sales, which commits to delivery dates; the shop floor, which has finite capacity; and finance, which has to establish costs. When those three work from different data, the company takes orders it delivers late, at prices that do not always cover the expected margin.
We deal first with the structure of bills of materials and routings, because everything follows from them: planning, replenishment requirements, inventory valuation and cost of goods. Approximate configuration at that level is paid for over years, and it is very expensive to rework once production is running on it.
The challenges we address.
Multi-level bills of materials and routings, with variants and subcontracting
Capacity planning and arbitration of shop floor priorities
Upstream and downstream traceability, by batch or serial number, including recalls
True cost of goods per item and per work order, variance against standard
What we bring.
- Scoping conducted on the shop floor with production managers, not only in meeting rooms
- Odoo configuration of the manufacturing, quality and maintenance modules
- Interfaces with existing equipment and supervision systems
- Field interfaces usable on the shop floor, including offline
